Since 2013, we've been sourcing specialty salts from around the world and hand-mixing our products right here in Pittsburgh. From Cyprus and Sicily to Peru and Hawaii, we search far and wide for unique ingredients, then blend, grind, pack, and label everything ourselves at our Millvale headquarters.

No giant factories. No mass production. Just small-batch salts & blends made by real people who are obsessed with great food!

Our salt comes from all around the world! From Cyprus, France, Peru, Sicily, and Pakistan (to name a few) as well as a few domestic sources from Hawaii, California, and Oregon!

Our main store is located at 206 Grant Ave, Millvale PA 15209…this is our flagship store, HQ, and production facility where all the magic happens!

We also have a location in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District at 21st & Penn Ave (next to Mon Aimee Chocolat). This is our original location where it all began! We are only open here on weekends April-December (closed during inclement weather or when we have private events, festivals, and tastings).

YES! In fact, all of our salts, spices, rubs, & blends are gluten free EXCEPT for our Malt Vinegar Salt and Royale with Cheese Popcorn Sprinkle. We take food allergies very seriously and do our production in a way to avoid cross contamination,

Salt itself does not expire, but spices and seasoning blends slowly lose flavor and aroma as they age.

Since we freshly grind and hand-mix our products in small batches, we recommend enjoying them within 1-2 years for the best flavor. Store them in a cool, dry place away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight, and they'll stay fresher longer.

Salts & spices should be stored in airtight containers. Our jars have lined caps which make them airtight and perfect for storage. Excess heat and light are the enemies of fresh spices and salts so a dark cabinet or drawer will do. The worst place to keep your spices is above the stove because heat from the oven will destroy essential oils in the spices & blends.

Because we do not use anti caking agents, some salts and spices can cake-up when exposed to excess moisture from a kitchen environment. If this happens pop them in the fridge, the coolness will help break up the clumped salts & spices.

Yes! In fact, we have a very low free shipping threshold of $52 for all Domestic orders. Under that amount we offer highly discounted flat-rate shipping cost of $6.95 (much lower than the actual cost for us to ship).

With the HUGE increase in shipping costs across the board, we have maintained the lowest possible prices for shipping charges and our product prices haven’t been raised in 8 years

From start to finish your order is processed, filled, and shipped by human beings! For the highest quality and freshness, all of our products are hand-poured and filled to order, rather than pre-bagged. We pride ourselves in getting your order out of our facility to the carrier within 48 hours of being placed with shipping times varying from 1-5 business days.
