This is our most famous blend and is definitely one of our most popular! Named after the colors of our home teams here in Pittsburgh, our Black & Gold Blend® is perfect on foods that you eat during games and with friends & family.

 

A smoky-sweet citrus pepper, this blend works well with anything you put it on and is considered our all purpose BBQ Blend! We use our Hickory Smoked Sea Salt as a base and hand-blend premium fresh ground spices that make this seasoning mouth-wateringly delicious! Whenever you have a party, cookout, or just eating regular meals, you need this awesome blend to turn on your food and make meals unforgettable.

 

Uses: Anything grilled or roasted; steak, porkchops, asparagus, wings, hamburgers, chicken, brisket, pork butt, corn on the cob...you name it! Also great on eggs, avocado, popcorn, stir-fry, in marinades.

 

Handmixed from: Hickory Smoked Sea Salt, Garlic, Lemon Peel, Orange Peel, Onion, Tellicherry Peppercorns, Cane Sugar, Smoked Paprika, Cumin, Turmeric, Spices.

The best seasoning there is

I happened upon Black and Gold Blend a few years ago while visiting my family in the burgh. Since then I have bought so many pounds of this stuff for myself mostly but also everyone I know. It’s so good on vegetables, makes the absolute best beer can chicken, tastes fabulous on fish and makes the most golden beautiful broth when added to soup. It’s got a little kick, a little smoke, a touch of sugar to help you caramelize, it’s everything I need and want. And when I shop it to NY I get the nicest notes in my shipments. I highly recommend buying this product.

This seasoning is my soul mate. I eat it nearly every day. Smoky with a tang of acidity from the citrus, it is perfection for any light colored meat. Ive been using it on chicken, pork, and turkey for years. I actually cant live without it.

Love this company!

My husband and I live in North Carolina but love Pittsburgh. This year we weren't able to visit, so I decided to fill his stocking with things he loves from Pittsburgh. We love Steel City Salt Co. our favorite blend being the Black and Gold. I am so excited to see his face when he sees we have more to add to our spice cabinet.

I’ve been using Black and Gold Blend for years. It is one on my favorites. Especially love it on the the roasted New Jersey Sweet Potatoes.
